Mount Bisoke is a dormant volcano located in the Virunga Mountains on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The summit of Mount Bisoke is 3711.5 meters above sea level. Rich and diverse vegetation, including rainforest and bamboo forest, covers the slopes of the mountain, which is also a home to abundant wildlife including the endangered mountain gorillas.
The volcano has a beautiful crater lake at the top which is one of the main attractions for hikers.
It takes about a six-hour hike to reach the top and a four-hour hike to descend the volcano.

Drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi, Musanze
Morning:
Start your day with early breakfast at your hotel.
Our driver will transfer you from Kigali to Musanze, (Park headquarters in Kinigi) by 6:30AM you will be there for a briefing before entering the park for hiking. The drive takes about 2 hours.
After being briefed by the park guides, We will drive to the park entrance so that you can start hiking Mount Bisoke, and you will eat your packed lunch at the summit.
Drive from The Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi, Musanze to Kigali
After leaving the park for hiking, We will drive and stop for a break in Musanze town, where you can fuel up with a Rwandan coffee and a hearty meal.
Late Afternoon:
We will drive back to Kigali and have dinner at one of Kigali’s fine restaurants, where you can reflect on your day’s adventure.
