Explore Gisenyi’s lake shore by bike and Boat trip in lake Kivu

The trail starts from Gisenyi town to Nkora, a small rural fishing village that is about 31 km away from Gisenyi on the Congo Nile trail. The cycling passes through different villages and coffee plantations on a dirty road along lake kivu and most part of the tour is up and downhills. The return trip is by boat exploring Lake kivu.

Here is a one-day congo nile trail biking itinerary:

In the morning, our guide will greet you, brief you about the tour and present the bikes. You will start biking following the congo nile trail. The ride will be a combination of 12 km cycling on tarmac road and 19 km on dirt road leading to nkora fishing village via cyimbili waterfall along the trail. At nkora, you will explore the coffee washing factory, seeing how coffee is harvested and dried. You will eat your lunch on the lake kivu shore and return back by boat exploring the lake kivu.
