Discovery of Lake Ruhondo and Surrounding Areas 33km
In the morning, start early for a hearty breakfast at your accommodation in Musanze. Depart from Musanze towards the southeast to Lake Ruhondo, the ride may take approximately 2 hours depending on your pace and stops for photos or rest at the shores of the first lake Ruhondo continue cycling around the lake's perimeter by following designated cycling trails.
The route provides scenic views of rolling hills, terraced landscapes, and local communities. We will stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot by the lake as well as Interacting with local fishermen and observe their traditional fishing techniques, if opportunities are available.
Afternoon
- Cycle around the lake, exploring the nearby villages and interacting with the friendly locals heading to your pre-arranged accommodation at Byiza Lodge on the road that is between lake Ruhondo and Burera.
- Check into your accommodation, relax and freshen up after the day's activities.
- Enjoy dinner, possibly with local Rwandan cuisine, at your accommodation.
- Reflect on the day's beautiful sceneries and experiences with Lake Ruhondo as your backdrop.

Morning:
- Start your day with breakfast at your accommodation.
- Depart from Your accommodation with a boat trip of 10 km exploring Lake Burera heading to its North with the Virunga Mountain Range offering a stunning backdrop.
After 1.5 hours of boat riding, you will cycle along the scenic route along Lake Burera, and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery.
Afternoon: Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lakeshore and spend some time relaxing in the tranquil atmosphere.
Evening: Cycle back to Musanze, exploring the charming villages and local life along the way as you conclude your twin lake cycling tour.
Night: Relax and unwind with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant in Musanze.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
